Happy Parade Day, Rochester!

We'll be reporting from the parade route. But first, here's what you need to know before you go.

It's a great day for a Hometown Christmas Parade.

The parade, a Rochester tradition, celebrates its 60 years today.

Will you be there? We will. Patch is marching in the parade, and while we wait for the festivities to start, we'll bring you updates on traffic, weather and the float festivities.

In the meantime, here's what you need to know today:

Before you head out: Take a look at . Be mindful of the parade route: It travels south from Tienken and Rochester roads starting at 1:45 p.m.

If you don't like crowds: The parade will be broadcast live on WXYZ Channel 7 beginning at 2 p.m.

The forecast has changed, slightly: Forecasters have predicted all week that the rain we awoke to would end by 1 p.m.; now they're saying it could last until 4 p.m. The high afternoon temperature will be around 49 degrees.

If you don't want to mess with the parking: A shuttle will run between 12:15 and 4:30 p.m. between on Walton Boulevard and the at Pine and Fourth streets in downtown Rochester. The shuttle is free.
