Get In the Holiday Mood By Touring These Decked-Out Rochester Homes

The home tour Sunday features musical entertainment at each stop.

A roll-top desk converted into a bar. Exotic woodworking and cabinetry. A 1940s kitchen with a red and white Gibson stove.

You'll see those unique features and more on Sunday during the annual Holiday Home Tour sponsored by the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.

The home tour is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and features five homes (you'll receive a map to the homes when you purchase your ticket for the tour).

According to the Friends organization, which plans the home tour each holiday season, the homes will be lavishly decorated for the holidays. Homes include an in-town bungalow, a French Country home, a Victorian, a traditional home, and a historic inn.

Musical entertainment will be featured at each home.

Homes may be visited in any sequence, but visitors are encouraged to plan their day by using the map printed on their ticket. Bringing slippers along is suggested, as all will be asked to remove footwear as a courtesy to homeowners.

Tickets for the home tour are $25 and may be purchased at the Friends Store in the library or at Dillman & Upton; Lytle Pharmacy; and Sharon’s Hallmark. Pay be cash or check only; guests are asked to bring slippers along and remove their shoes when visiting the homes.

For more information, contact the Friends at 248-650-7176.
