Fishing, Face Painting and Fun at RiverFest Celebration

The event was one of 53 events hosted by the Clinton River Watershed Council as part of this year's River Day celebration.

Cooler temperatures and dry weather attracted Rochester-area families to Rochester Municipal Park Saturday for this year's RiverFest celebration.

The event was hosted in conjunction with the Clinton River Watershed Council's , which included 53 events along the waterways of the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair this weekend.

The event also coincides with Michigan's first , which allows residents to fish in Michigan without a license June 11 and 12.

Kids who attended the festival enjoyed face painting, minnow racing, t-shirt painting and fly fishing lessons. Families in attendance took advantage of all of the activities and enjoyed snacks and beverages provided by .

Chuck Lester, membership coordinator for the Clinton River Watershed Council, attended the event, passing out information about the council's role in preserving the area's waterways.
