Expect an Update on Rochester-Area Road Projects By Noon Today

Patch is attending a press conference this morning at the Avon-Livernois intersection. Check back around lunchtime for a full report.

A planned press conference with officials from the cities of Rochester and Rochester Hills as well as the Road Commission for Oakland County and the Michigan Department of Transportation is expected to detail the numerous road projects happening around town.

Among the projects that officials will provide an update on:

  • The Avon Bridge project. The rebuilding of the bridge began in February and is expected to wrap up shortly.
  • The Livernois Bridge project. This is the next bridge to be rebuilt in Rochester Hills. The project will begin when the Avon Bridge reopens.
  • The Main Street Makeover. This reconstruction of Rochester Road through downtown Rochester is ongoing; the road is expected to re-open to traffic in mid-July.
  • The Crooks Road project. It will be reconstructed between Starr-Batt Drive and just north of the Hamlin Road intersection.

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett, Rochester City Manager Jaymes Vettraino and representatives of the Road Commission are expected to attend the gathering.
