Crooks Road Now Open, One Day Ahead of Schedule

Here's when the other road projects in Rochester and Rochester Hills will wrap up.

Crooks Road north of Hamlin to Bonnie Brae is now open in Rochester Hills. It opened one day ahead of the scheduled opening announced earlier this week by the Road Commisison for Oakland County.

This section of Crooks has been closed since mid-August as part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction of Crooks between Starr Batt Drive and Bonnie Brae. The project involves reconstruction and widening the road from predominantly three lanes to five lanes from Star Batt to the Clinton River bridge. Reconstruction only is being done from the Clinton River bridge to Bonnie Brae.

The project also included the construction of storm sewers where necessary to provide proper drainage. Pedestrian pathway gaps along Crooks were also filled in.

Crook remains reduced to one lane in each direction south of Hamlin. The project is expected to be completed by about Nov. 1, according to the RCOC.
