Crooks Road North of Hamlin to Open Friday

Road Commission for Oakland County announces expected opening.

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to open Crooks Road from Hamlin Road north to Bonnie Brae in Rochester Hills this Friday Oct. 19, weather permitting.

This section of Crooks has been closed since mid-August as part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction of Crooks between Starr Batt Drive and Bonnie Brae. The project involves reconstruction and widening the road from predominantly three lanes to five lanes from Star Batt to the Clinton River bridge. Reconstruction only is being done from the Clinton River bridge to Bonnie Brae.

The project also included the construction of storm sewers where necessary to provide proper drainage. Pedestrian pathway gaps along Crooks were also filled in.

Crook remains reduced to one lane in each direction south of Hamlin. The project is expected to be completed by approximately Nov. 1 according to the RCOC.
