Crooks, Adams to Reopen Next Week

We're right in the middle of the 'worst of the worst' traffic situation in Rochester Hills, mayor says.

It's not easy traveling from north to south in Rochester Hills right now.

Parts of both Crooks Road and Adams Road are closed to through traffic and will remain closed until next week.

, is set to reopen Monday; is set to reopen next Friday, Sept. 30.

Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett updated residents on the construction projects Monday night, acknowledging the work that has closed Adams Road is taking longer than the expected three weeks.

"We are in the worst of the worst of road work right now," Barnett said. "People need to remember these are hard closures. It's difficult to get around, but there is no cut-through traffic allowed."

Barnett referred to traffic cutting through the Secretary of State plaza near Crooks and Star Batt. have been patrolling that area and citing drivers who use the parking lot to travel around the construction.

The Crooks Road project involves the rebuilding of the intersection of Crooks and Star Batt. The Adams Road project involves the resurfacing of both lanes of the road. Both projects are being managed by the Road Commission for Oakland County.
