Crime Report: Trolley Driver Arrested; Flier Distributor Cited
Man operating horse-drawn ride during the recent Fire and Ice Festival to be arraigned Feb. 22.
A 35-year-old Lapeer resident who drove a horse-drawn trolley at the city's will be arraigned Feb. 22 after reportedly assaulting a police officer during the event, according to Rochester Police.
A police report said an officer approached the driver on the opening night of the festival after receiving reports that the trolley had done damage to two parked cars while riding along its downtown route.
When the officer attempted to arrest the driver, he resisted and assaulted the officer, the police report said. He was eventually charged with assaulting and injuring the officer, who was treated at and released.

Door-to-door roofer needs permit
Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suspicious man going door-to-door in the 1800 block of Jason Circle on Friday afternoon.
Deputies found the man on nearby Snowden Circle knocking on a door. He handed police a flier and told them he was advertising for his roofing company, but he did not have a permit and was unaware he needed one. He was cited for soliciting without a permit.

Hard punch served on the dance floor
Rochester Police responded Feb. 5 to a call for help at , where a 27-year-old Metamora man said he was breaking up an altercation on the dance floor when someone punched him in the face and ran out of the bar. He refused medical attention and returned to the bar.
