An Army of Gingerbread Men Already Getting into Position at Royal Park

There's no snow, but preparations start now for the downtown Rochester hotel's great gingerbread house creation.

It's never too early to start getting ready for the holidays.

Especially when you have thousands of gingerbread bricks to bake.

Inside the kitchen at the , pastry chefs are busy baking gingerbread men to start promoting the hotel's giant gingerbread house. This will be the fourth year for the creation, which and used 3,000 ginger-baked bricks.

Mark Slessor, the hotel's new pastry chef, said he and his team will start their work on designing and building the house in the coming weeks.

The gingerbread house will be unveiled during a ceremony Nov. 16 at the hotel.
