Whether you're ready or not, the new year is upon us this Sunday. So if you're looking for a few things to do on New Year's Day, here are five suggestions.
1. Watch NFL Football
Normally, New Year's Day is heaven on earth for college football fans. But since New Year's Day is on a Sunday this year, the bowl games have been pushed to Monday. So, New Year's Day 2012 is all about the NFL. This is an exciting day to watch, especially since most of the games being played will impact the playoffs. The Detroit Lions will play the Green Bay Packers at 1 p.m. on Fox, as if we even had to tell you that.
2. Make Your Resolutions
Many people make resolutions at the beginning of the years. What's yours, and are you ready for 2012? If you need some inspiration, from fitness experts, entrepreneurs and others.
3. Get Some Outdoor Exercise
The weather on Sunday is expected to be snowy and cloudy with a high near 39, winds between 18 and 25 m.p.h. and wind gusts as high as 37 m.p.h. But if you bundle up, you can still take a hike, walk the dog or even go sledding, if enough snow sticks.
4. Put Away Your Holiday Decorations
The holidays are behind us, and it's time to start packing up the décor. If you want to get extra organized this year, many stores are offering deals on organizational supplies that will help keep your ornaments safe and your lights tangle-free.
5. Go see a movie
If watching football on TV isn't your thing, how about a movie on the big screen? You can search for a movie with the Moviefone widget above – and don't forget the popcorn!
