5 Places to Ring In a Festive New Year

From the Rockin' Reggae New Year's Eve Bash at Rochester Mills to the Blowout party at the Hilles, there are plenty of ways to party til it's 2012.

If you're not the stay-at-home-to-ring-in-the-new-year type, check out these five places to spend New Year's Eve around Rochester:

Rochester Mills Beer Company will be hosting a Rockin' Reggae New Year's Eve Bash with the Belle Islanders with Dave Edwards playing at 10 p.m. Dinner specials will be running all night. No cover charge.

The Hills is going big on New Year's Eve with a 2012 Blowout. Check out DJ DIL, DJ Maze, DJ Kuku and DJ Simba, who will have you tearing up the dance floor while you ring in the new year. Tickets are $20 in advance at www.hillsnye.com or $30 at the door; doors open at 10 p.m. Attire is semi-formal to formal.

O'Connor's Public House will feature 3 Sheets, which will be playing '70s, '80s and '90s tunes with plenty of rock and blues starting at 9 p.m. You can make a reservation for table seating or sit in the bar area for open seating. No cover.

Penny Black wants you to "come as you are" to a low-key night with good beer and a DJ playing until 3 a.m. Ring in 2012 with a Leffe Belgian Blonde Ale and $3 tallboys after 9 p.m. No cover.

Have you been to the new Bar Louie? This is a great night to stop in and check it out. Their VIP package for the night will get you a drink, a small plate from their menu and a champagne toast at midnight, all for $25. A live DJ will keep it festive. 9 p.m. to midnight.
