Leave it to the Detroit Tigers to make us all nervous per the usual. You know the same old process: get a big lead in a big game, then flirt with giving it away in the last inning with Benoit or someone else from the bullpen on the mound. You could see the tension in the crowd as batter after batter from the Red Sox came out and got on base with ease.
Most importantly though, they were able to close out game 4, tie the series at 2, and give themselves a chance to take the lead tonight at 8:07 P.M. ET. With Anibal Sanchez on the mound, after a 12 strikeout performance last time out, and a restyled batting lineup, the Tigers will be able to do just that and give Max Scherzer the chance to close out the BoSox in Fenway Park on Saturday.
Will they do it? Personally, I believe they will. Prince Fielder is bound to start doing SOMETHING for this team, and the rest of the bats have woken up after Jim Leyland switched things around. Fielder can be the ultimate difference maker, and the Tigers can make it back to the World Series. Expect a couple more very tense 9th innings from our bullpen(unless Scherzer tells Leyland he wants to go for the complete game).
