Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team had a busy week competing in post season tournaments.  The men’s team was upset in the semi-final round by the fifth seed Jamestown College in a tough 62-78 loss, ending its play in the A.I.I tournament.  In the USCAA national tournament the men’s team got off to a tremendous start in the first round with a 75-53 win over St. Joseph College.  With two players recording a double-double, Dramell Hogan scoring 37 points and grabbing 10 rebounds and Drew Maynard scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Basketball Post Season Honors

With the men’s and women’s basketball team having successful seasons, they were rewarded with post season honors and honorable mentions.  On a list of 35 names for men’s division one national all-academic team, four of the names represented Rochester College, Daniel Mullen, Austin Karbowski, Daniel Thomas and Alexander Storm.  The women’s team had eight players represent Rochester College on the women’s division one national all-academic team, including Samantha Tomaschko who received this award for the third straight year.  As for division one first team all-Americans, Dramell Hogan and Drew Maynard  received awards, also Stavros Schizas received honorable mentions for men’s division one for all- Americans.
