Crittenton Home Care Celebrates National Rehab Week -September 16-22

Crittenton Home Care celebrates National Rehabilitation Week along with thousands across the country.

According to the National Rehabilitation Awareness Foundation, each year, thousands of rehabilitation providers and health and human services agencies join together during the third week in September to celebrate the powers of rehabilitation and share the message that through rehab there is hope, achievement and success. This year, Crittenton Home Care once again joins the Awareness Celebration by not only thanking our staff, but thanking our partnering rehabilitation facilities in the Oakland and Macomb County areas.

National Rehabilitation Week began in the United States in 1976 to educate people on the importance of rehabilitation. In 1990, after facilities across the country offering health care and rehabilitation joined forces, a Presidential proclamation designated the third week in September as National Rehab Week.

More than 6,500 rehab facilities and health and human services care providers have participated in the event each year since 2000 and the celebration continues to grow. Home health care and senior care are just part of the many ways that individuals across the country are receiving rehabilitation. Crittenton Home Car offers Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy to our patients as a part of their overall quality of care program.

Through the National Rehabilitation Awareness Celebration, the foundation focuses the nation’s attention on capabilities rather than disabilities; and increases awareness of the tremendous power and impact of rehabilitation.

Thank you to the thousands of rehabilitation specialists across the country and right here in our area who help to increase healing, independence and health to our patients. We'll be around town next week dropping goodies to all of our partnering rehabiliation facilities at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center and throughout the area.

You could call the Mayor, but he is in Istanbul Turkey... looking over some plans for a new shopping mall they want to build in an historic park.
