Holy Family Girl Scouts Attend Interfaith Service

Holy Family Girl Scouts participated in the “Girl Scout 2013 Interfaith Service” held at the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn.  Holy Family Scouts presented the Living Rosary in honor of Mary, The Blessed Mother.  Holy Family was chosen to represent the Roman Catholic faith perspective.  The girls spoke about how to say the rosary and sang both the “Hail Mary” and “Rain Rushes Down.”  Hand signs were also used during song as this is a loved art at Holy Family.

Clergy and Clerics from many different religions facilitated the celebration based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law which includes many of the principles and values common to most faiths.

Our students honored the Islamic traditions and wore a Hijab covering their heads.  The hijab is a sign of a woman's faithfulness to their God. The hijab covers the head, not the mind and intellect.
