Amy Butler of Rochester Hills elected to board of EIBC

Amy Butler, Executive Director of OU INC, was elected to the board of directors of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council at the group's annual meeting at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. She will serve a three-year term.

As Michigan's only trade association focused on the advanced energy sector, membership in the Energy Innovation Business Council provides member companies with a voice in the Lansing and Washington policy discussions, insider industry news and information, access to capital and information on grants and other funding, business development assistance, and outstanding networking opportunities.

"Being on the board of the Michigan EIBC is an honor for me, but more importantly, it opens the door for OU INC to continue growing within the energy business community and helps us bring our resources to a larger group of like-minded business professionals," said Butler of her appointment.

Prior to joining OU INC, Butler was the Director of the Bureau of Energy Systems, for the Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth for the State of Michigan.  In this role, she aligned Michigan's energy sector initiatives, promoted economic growth, and job creation for Michigan's transition to the energy economy.  She directed policy and program development; legislation; and coordinated agencies and stakeholders including building local public private partnerships.
