Drive-thru restaurant in the works off Adams Road.

Known throughout North America for its coffee and pastries, Tim Horton's is looking to come to the Adams Road marketplace in Rochester Hills.

Rochester Hills City Council will consider tonight a request for the restaurant to build a 1,953-square-foot drive-thru restaurant on Adams across from .

The restaurant would be built new on vacant property; it would be the first Tim Horton's in Rochester Hills.

In addition to coffee drinks and pastries, the restaurant serves sandwiches and breakfast items. Its signature "Timbits" are miniature doughnut holes served in sets of 10.

The request is part of a tonight; councilmembers also have scheduled public hearings on the city budget and millage rate.

The B.E.L.T. sandwiches are great, and you can get them on any kind of bagel! Yum, yum!

Finally, we have been putting this request in their suggestion box for years! They should consider the Rochester/Tienken area too.

Woot :) Now to get a coffee shop in the old Dunkin Donuts building at Rochester and Avon.

Bob. Why are you against this restaurant opening up? It will bring in new jobs to the city, and it will also help out the surrounding businesses that are in the area. Good luck voicing your opinion tonight, because you're not going to win.

Gracious. Someone forgot to take their prozac this morning.

Timmies, as we fondly call it, has wonderful soups and sandwiches. The only thing close to it is Panera's, which is a good deal more pricey. No friend foods here - unless you count the donuts.

Just FYI, city council announced at the start of tonight's meeting that the request was pulled from tonight's agenda. City Council meets again next Monday.

So, it's going to be on next week's agenda, or are there no longer plans to open one of these up?

Plans are still in the works; just moved to a different agenda. I will keep you posted as to whether it will be discussed next Monday.

Perhaps I missed a follow-up on this story, but was a decision ever reached? I'd love to see a Tim Hortons in Rochester!
