Rochester Mills Brewing Facility Set to Open Next Week

The Auburn Hills production brewery will make 100,000 barrels of beer a year.

The production facility for Rochester's hometown beer is getting closer and closer to brew time.

The will officially open next week in Auburn Hills. The newly renovated 48,000-square-foot facility behind the Palace of Auburn Hills will brew popular brands Cornerstone IPA, Rochester Red Ale and Milkshake Stout. The facility will include a tasting room and eventually will be open for tours.

Rochester Mills plans to produce 100,000 barrels of beer a year; the beer will be made in 16-ounce aluminum cans and on draft for local bars, restaurants and beer merchants across Michigan.

"Our plan is for long-term growth — 25 to 30 years," said Rochester Mills president and founder Mike Plesz . "My vision was big — I needed a facility that mirrored that. Think big, start big."

Rochester Mills will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with local business leaders on April 20 at the facility; it will mark the official opening of the production brewery.
