Rochester Mills Beer Company to Unveil New Amber Lager

Lazy Daze Amber Lager to hit taps soon, cans due by early summer.

Craft beer aficionados soon will have a new flavor of suds to sample.

Rochester Mills Beer Company is set to unveil its new year-round selection, Lazy Daze Amber Lager, on taps and in cans distributed throughout Michigan.

The beer could hit taps any day, according to Dave Youngman of Rochester Mills, and the brew is expected to be available throughout Michigan by early summer.

With the locally crafted German-style beer, Youngman said, beer fans won't have to seek out imported varieties.

"It's a German-style amber lager beer," Youngman said. "It's a very clean, crisp and refreshing beer."

Youngman said the beer, brewed at its production brewery in Auburn Hills, is the first lager available to the public beyond just being on tap at its Rochester pub.

"That's what the production brewery is," Youngman said. "It allows us to take beer and move it beyond the pub."

Rochester Mills' spacious Auburn Hills production brewery allows large-volume brewing, kegging and canning to ensure availability throughout the state through several distributors, Youngman said.
