It's a Pedicure Paradise at Rochester Hills Nail Salon
They met, they married and now Kevin and Tammy Nguyen have created a nail experience they say is the 'nicest in town.'
Nestled at the corner of Livernois and Walton is a little piece of nirvana.
Nail nirvana, that is.
Kevin and Tammy Nguyen, husband-and-wife owners of K & T Nails, recently remodeled their back room into a pedicure paradise.

"The pedicure is our most popular service," Tammy said. "It's the nicest in town, we take our time and don't rush."
The room is done in red and gold with candlelike chandeliers and eight pedicure massage chairs. Two large fish tanks are the focal point to the room.

"People love to come here," Kevin said. "So we wanted to make it spacious and relaxing."
Do-it-yourself project
Kevin and Tammy have a history beyond K&T Nails. The couple met at work in Rochester 11 years ago and married two years later. They decided to open their own nail salon seven years ago.
"We have been working together," Tammy said. "It's what we know. And we already liked Rochester, it's a nice area with friendly people."
They also knew what they wanted their remodeled pedicure spa to be like, and fortunately Kevin had the skills to do it themselves.
"Kevin did it all — the tile, lighting, art, furniture, everything," Tammy said proudly.
The first step was to rip out the ledge the chairs sat on.
"Flat is better," Tammy said. "It's easier for the customers."
Best of all, it also opened up more space for parties.
Pedicure parties for all!
K&T Nails is now known for their party facilities.
"We do Girls Night Out, birthday and bridal parties," Kevin said.
K&T regular and Rochester resident Pam Cronovich is a big fan of the bridal parties. "It was as much fun as the wedding... almost!" she said.
The K&T pedicure choices include:
- Basic pedicure for $30
- Pedicure with sea salts for $35
- Hot rocks pedicure for $40, and
- Deluxe pedicure for $50.
There is also an extra services menu to add on to your pedicure.
K&T Nails is located at 133 South Livernois in the Kroger plaza. They are open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Call 248-608-6787 with questions.
