Goldfish Open for Rochester Swimmers

The school is located on South Street near downtown.

Things are just "swimmingly" at the newest business to open its doors in Rochester.

officially opened for lessons last week at 330 South St. near downtown. It is the fifth franchise location for the school, which is known for its warm water pools, small class sizes and fun, kids-only learning environment.

The school offers parent-child classes starting at 4 months and toddler classes beginning at age 3. Group classes are $78 per month (based on a one-class-per-week schedule); private lessons are $182 monthly.

Goldfish has locations in Birmingham, Farmington Hills, Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. A Clarkston location will open this year and a Macomb location will open next year; Goldfish schools are also planned for Chicago and Cleveland.

Goldfish opened in Birmingham six years ago. Founder that Rochester was chosen because of the family-friendly, small-town feel. The Rochester location will ultimately employ about 45 people.
