Cupcakes Returning to Downtown Rochester

Cupcake Station, the state's first cupcake shop, will open on south side of downtown.

Cupcake Station, billed as Michigan's first cupcake shop, will open in the former Dessert Oasis location on the corner of Second and Main streets in downtown Rochester.

Kristi Trevarrow, executive director of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority, confirmed the new business is coming to 205 S. Main Street.

"I think it's exciting news," said Trevarrow. "We've had a couple of cupcake shops downtown in the past that were not successful. Cupcake Station has an established product, and they'll be a great addition to downtown."

Last year, Cupcake Station was one of several business sponsors of the first downtown Rochester Cash Mob.

Dessert Oasis moved from the location at the end of last year; the coffee shop is now located down the street at 336 S. Main Street.
