How to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Rochester

Here are five places with specials planned Saturday.

, the hub for Mexican cuisine in Rochester Hills, will celebrate Cinco de Mayo all day long Saturday with food and drink specials and entertainment.

The restaurant will have an outdoor party tent with a taco stand and tiki bar. A Mariachi band will perform at 6 p.m.; a DJ will be playing tunes starting at 9 p.m.

But the real highlight of the day will be a Mexican folkloric dance performance at 1 p.m. Owner Michael Versaci called the performance "very unique and traditional." It's the first year the restaurant has featured such a performance.

Doors open at 10 a.m. at Miguel's.

  • The corner bar downtown will feature live entertainment, food specials and Cuervo drink deals.
  • The downtown bar will feature a Malibu Red $3 shot special on the patio in a special ice luge. The restaurant will feature multiple Mexican-inspired food specials; there will be music starting at 9:30 p.m.
  • The bar will feature $3 Corona, Corona Light and Dos Equis bottles and $5 house margaritas all day. Reverse Happy Hour starts at 10 p.m. — half off all alcohol and appetizers.
  • : The Rochester Hills bakery will offer a special "La Bamba" cupcake on Saturday. It's a chocolate cupcake topped with Mexican chili-chocolate tequila cream cheese frosting sprinkled with crispy cinnamon-sugar tortilla pieces.
