Indie music fans can get the ultimate experience at St. Jerome's Laneway Festival Detroit, which arrives Sept. 14 at Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester Hills.
The Friends of Derrick VIP Package, named after the Laneway cat portrayed in the festival's logo, grants visitors premium access and amenities at the daylong North American debut of the boutique indie music festival, headlined by Sigur Ros and The National on Sept. 14 on the grounds of Meadow Brook.
Those who purchase the VIP package can receive early entry to the festival grounds, VIP lounge seating and parking access, access to a private full cash bar, private restrooms, a reserved viewing area of all stages including pavilion seating for Sigur Ros, limited-edition Laneway Festival Detroit merchandise, meets-and-greets with select artists and an invitation to Friday pre-festival and Saturday post-festival parties at the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac.
The Friends of Derrick VIP Package is the latest announcement from the Laneway Festival Detroit team. In June, festival organizers from Laneway and Palace Sports & Entertainment announced the addition of the Movement Stage presented by Ghostly International to the Laneway Detroit lineup, featuring the collaboration of one of the world's most progressive electronic music festivals and a fiercely independent record label to showcase: Matthew Dear with his live band, ADULT., Shigeto, Heathered Pearls and Beacon.
The Movement Stage presented by Ghostly International complements the existing Laneway Detroit lineup, which spans the globe from Australia to Detroit with nearly two dozen acts, including: Sigur Ros, The National, The Dismemberment Plan, Solange, Icona Pop, My Brightest Diamond, Run the Jewels, Chvrches and Deerhunter.
“The Laneway Festival Detroit experience is designed to give music lovers an unbelievable day of incredible music; we created the Friends of Derrick package to offer a premium experience,” said Danny Rogers, who co-founded the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival with Jerome Borazio in partnership with Chugg Entertainment in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. The festival now spans eight cities in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States.
Laneway Festival Detroit Friends of Derrick tickets are $199 (including parking fees).
