James Kasperek studied art at both the Columbus College of Art and Design, and the Center for Creative Studies, and has been painting seriously for over 35 years. He has worked in most mediums including oil, watercolor, graphite and gouache, but pastel has been his dominant medium since the early 90’s. He’s predominately a landscape artist, and works exclusively on black sanded paper. His inspiration comes from capturing the effects and movement of light and shadow, and how it may influence the vibrancy or subtlety of color throughout a composition.
Opening Reception for James Kasperek is on Friday, September 21st, at Fieldstone Winery from 6 to 9 pm. It is hosted by Firebrick Gallery and Pottery Studio. Free and open to the public.
