Sunday was Rochester day at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Residents of Rochester and Rochester Hills to the downtown Detroit art museum; it was the DIA's way of thanking the town for hosting artwork as part of its Inside|Out project this summer.

Around downtown Rochester, are on display. Rochester is one of 11 suburban Detroit cities chosen for the traveling art project.

Liann Maxwell of Rochester had been wanting to explore the DIA for some time. With four kids under age 9, she felt like Sunday's free day was the perfect opportunity.

"The boys did well, for the most part," Liann wrote in her blog, Seriously-lee.blogspot.com. "Inside voices were strongly encouraged. No Picassos were defaced. Running and jumping kept to a minimum.
