Trash Pickup Delayed One Day Because of Severe Weather Conditions

The following statement is by Republic Services, which provides trash pickup services in Rochester Hills:

Republic Services has been monitoring local weather conditions and road conditions throughout Metro Detroit. The Metro Detroit area has already received several inches of an expected 6 to 12 inch snowfall through Monday, Jan. 6. Based on our observations of road conditions as well as forecasts from local weather agencies, Republic Services has made the decision to postpone collection services for Monday, Jan. 6.

All collection services will be delayed by one day. Collection service will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

This will ensure the safety of our drivers as well as reduce unnecessary traffic during the many snow emergencies which have been declared throughout the Metro Detroit Area.

With local municipalities providing snow removal operations, waste and recycling containers can become obstructed and/or buried in the snow. Residential customers are being asked to ensure that collection containers and bags can be easily accessed and are visible from the street. This will ensure that materials will be collected when Republic arrives at your location on the delayed schedule.
