Thousands Still Without Power in Rochester Hills
Thousands of residents in Rochester and Rochester Hills remained without power late Monday after windstorms overnight Sunday and early Monday wreaked havoc on power lines.
According to DTE Energy, more than 1,200 homes were without power in the area between Avon, Walton, Livernois and Adams in Rochester Hills and an additional 750 Rochester Hills and Oakland Township homes north of Tienken, in the areas of Silver Bell and Orion roads and Snell and Rochester roads are without power. Additionally, many smaller patches of homes throughout the area are without power.
DTE had estimated earlier Monday that it could take several days to fully restore power. Nearly 500,000 customers—including about 40,000 in Oakland County—were reportedly without power Monday in Michigan.
