Museum Offers Winter Survival Skills at Bloomer Park

Museum program teaches how to brave the elements.

Rochester Hills-area residents will learn how to survive if we see a return of the Polar Vortex.

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm will be presenting Winter Survival Skills from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills.

Admission is $3 for children of Rochester Hills Museum members and $5 for children of non-members. Ages 8 and up are welcome.

This environmental program will teach guests how to build a winter survival shelter and the art of starting a fire without matches. Participants should come dressed for the weather and ready to learn winter survival skills.

Bloomer Park is located on John R Road, north of Avon Road.  To register call (248) 656-4663 or email rhmuseum@rochesterhills.org.
