More Than 3,000 Without Power in Rochester, Rochester Hills

Storms close Stoney Creek High School, Lake Orion Schools.

More than 3,000 households in Rochester and Rochester Hills are without power Monday after heavy storms Sunday, according to DTE Energy.

According to the Oakland Press, more than 60,000 residents around Oakland County lost power, and DTE representative Alejandro Bodipo-Memba told the paper it could take several days to restore power.

The outages closed Stoney Creek High School and Lake Orion Schools.

Winds as high as 70 mph moved across Oakland County on Sunday, and high winds estimated at 40 mph are expected to continue  in the area throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service
