Hometown Hustle Set to Take Off on Saturday in Rochester

5K raises funds for Rochester Community Schools Foundation.

The Hometown Hustle is entering its eighth year in the Rochester community, taking off Saturday in downtown Rochester.

The 5K race/walk event, which raises funds for the Rochester Community Schools Foundation, is expected to draw about 1,000 participants.

“The funds raised through the Hometown Hustle are critical to continuing our mission of supporting academics, arts and athletics through student scholarships, mini-grants to educators and cultural and athletic programs,” Debra Hartman, director of the Rochester Community Schools Foundation and Rochester Community Schools district spokesperson, said. “The 2012 Hometown Hustle raised $22,000 and we are aiming for $25,000 this year. We enthusiastically invite all to participate in this growing community tradition.”
