Q and A with God: What is your name?

This week’s question from God is a powerful one: “What is your name?” (Genesis 32:27) or you could say, “Who are you?”  It is the question God asks Jacob after “wrestling” with Him all night.  In the morning Jacob is given a new name: “your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed” (v. 28).  A name represents the quality of something, and in my sermon I will be talking about the power of naming (identifying) the unfolding narrative in our lives.
