EPIC CHURCH - Grand Opening

Church in a movie theater?
Seriously?  Seriously.

That is exactly what Epic Church of Rochester Hills, MI is
doing as they get set for their grand opening in the new Emagine Theatre on Barclay Circle in Rochester Hills – Sunday September 18, 2011 at 9:43 am. The kickoff on September 18th will feature breakfast at 9:28, free
popcorn and balloons, and opportunities to win free movie tickets to the Emagine. Worship gets started at 9:43
with upbeat, modern music and a message from Pastor Kade that helps people use biblical principles to apply to their everyday life. Why 9:43 am? You’ll have to find that out at Epic.

“We do church a little different here at Epic, so having
service at a movie theater just made sense for us,” said Tim Kade, lead Pastor at Epic. “A theater is a place that almost everyone has stepped into at one point in their lives,” said Kade.  “That initial barrier is broken down for those on the fence about going to church, and it makes for a non-threatening environment for newcomers to walk through the door.”

The idea of holding church in a movie theater is not an entirely new one.  In fact there are “at least 250 churches throughout the country that are meeting in theaters,” said
Mark Batterson of National Community Church, in  Washington, DC. Batterson started his church 15 years ago in a movie theater and they still meet there today.

Epic Church meets every Sunday at 9:43 am at the Emagine Theatre. You can find the latest information on the church at www.epicchurch.com
