Brownie Girls Help Rochester Hills Teen in Big Donation Effort

They collected more than 500 personal care items for the Neighborhood House.

Inspired by a Rochester Hills teen's charity work, a Brownie troop at Brooklands Elementary School recently collected more than 500 personal care items to donate to the Rochester Area Neighborhood House.

Troop 74742 worked with Danielle Ziaja, founder of Clean Start Service Project. Earlier this month, Danielle met girls from the Brownie troop to sort the items and donate them to the Neighborhood House; Clean Start donated almost 7,000 items that day.

Danielle is the daughter of Rose and Bob Ziaja, an orthodontist in Macomb and Clarkston. She grew up seeing her dad receive nonstop samples of toothpastes. Thus, a service project was born.

So far, Clean Start has collected and donated 76,137 items to area organizations.
