Steiny's Takes First Place in Kansas City BBQ Contest

Steiny's Restaurant, located in Shelby Township, MI, took first place in BBQ Chicken at the Highland Michigan Red White and Blues Festival on June 28, 2014.

Steiny’s own Chef Jason Middleton and owners Jeff & Cheryl Steinhurst participated in their very first Professional BBQ Pitmasters Competition. 

Steiny's was up against 18 competitors, many of which were regulars in the KCBS Pitmaster circuit.

1st Place Dessert (Jeff’s mom's recipe for Sour cream Peach Pie)

3rd BBQ Sauce (a new sauce Steiny's launches in the restaurant in July)

 

For the contest, Steiny's followed the Kansas City Barbeque Society KCBS Rules www.kcbs.us. 

"We are so excited about this win and are ready to share our recipe with more people and festivals," said Cheryl Steinhurst. "We are looking to do a couple more festivals this year to get the Big Daddy award for our Ribs and Pulled Pork."

Steiny's Restaurant is a locally owned and family operated restaurant in Shelby Township, MI. Owners, Cheryl and Jeff Steinhurst opened Steiny's after both spending years in the restaurant and catering industry.

In addition to its expansive menu, Steiny's offers in the largest selection of beer on tap in Macomb County, a 2500 square foot banquet facility, live music, lunch specials and catering throughout Oakland and Macomb Counties.
