Rochester College To Host "Evening Under The Stars"

Rochester College's Science Department is hosting an "Evening Under the Stars," which will provide information and viewing of celestial objects, on Saturday, July 26, in the Richardson Academic Center, room HL115.

This astronomy event features Gerry Chevrier, a member of NASA's Solar System Ambassador program. The evening begins at 9 p.m. with an informative presentation about a star cluster, nebulae, galaxy and planet. The group will head outside from 10 p.m. to midnight for viewing of the celestial objects on RC's new dome and Meade LX200 Schmidt Cassegrain 14-inch telescope, which is equipped with a video camera for easy viewing.

The RC Science Department will also have a few other telescopes set up for viewing. Guests are also welcome to bring their own telescopes. All ages are welcome. For more information, contact Dr. David Brackney at dbrackney@rc.edu.
