LOCAL BUSINESSES NEEDED TO HELP FIGHT CANCER

Relay for Life of Greater Rochester is looking for local businesses to help support the fight against cancer by becoming a sponsor of the 2014 Relay For Life. Cancer touches everyone and involvement in Relay For Life is a great way for local businesses to show their commitment to help save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

This year the event hopes to raise $20,000 through corporate sponsorship. There are many options available, including nine different levels of event sponsorship which range from $250 to $25,000. Some of the benefits of sponsorship include event track signs with the company name, a plaque of appreciation, the company logo on our web site, company logo on the Event Corporate Sponsor banner, company logo on the event T-shirt, banners displayed at event and company logo on printed materials; where applicable. Also, you can have ACS staff to host an internal Relay For Life kick-off at your worksite and have the opportunity to speak at the Relay For Life event.

"R & G Drummer is proud to help sponsor the Rochester area Relay for Life because of the impact the event makes on our community. Relay brings our community closer together through shared experiences and the goal of fighting cancer," says Rick Drummer

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It is a fun and unique way for people to raise money for the battle against cancer, helping to save lives and create more birthdays right in our own communities! Teams of approx. 15 people camp out at Hart Middle School and take turns walking around a track. Relay is an overnight event with the perfect combination of exercise, entertainment, and inspiration.

In Rochester and nearly 5,200 other communities around the globe, Relay For Life unites people to celebrate the lives of those who have faced cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease. Relay for Life, the world’s largest grassroots fundraising movement, continues to grow as tens of thousands of people will participate in Relay events across our state.

This year’s Relay For Life of Greater Rochester event will take place June 21 from 9am through 9am June 22 at Hart Middle School. The event is held overnight as individuals and teams camp out on the track field with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track at all times throughout the night, to signify that cancer never sleeps. Teams do most of their fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their campsites during Relay. Relay For Life brings together families, friends, businesses, hospitals, schools, and faith-based groups – people from all walks of life – all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping them get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.
