Vintage base ball captures the start of base ball fever in the United States during the Civil War.  Matches are played according to the rules of the early 1860s, which means no gloves and exceptional gentlemanly behavior.  Matches are nine innings, pitchers throw underhanded, and various terminology harkens back to the early days of this national past time.

The Rochester Hills Museum is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, one mile east of Rochester Road off Tienken Road and one mile north of downtown Rochester.  The Museum site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features a restored dairy barn used as an exhibit facility, 1840 and 1850 farmhouse and 16 acres of gardens and grounds bordered by Stoney Creek.  For more information visit www.rochesterhills.org or call 248.656.4663.
