I'm currently listening to West of Here by Jonathan Evison. It is a story of two tales, oneRead More happening in 1890 and the other happening to the descendants in 2006. In 1890 people are trying to conquer the last remaining wilderness, Indians are dealing with the effects of alcohol on their people while others are seeking their fortunes. In 2006 the descendants are still dealing with issues from back in the day while living in a dying town that is looking to reinvent itself. I'm finding it to be a very clever book that deals both with history and the human struggle.
