The Little Trees that Could

When the trees downtown got wind that their days were numbered, they conspired with some neighborhood birds to help them survive in some way.  Early this spring, the chain saws fired up and our trees were no more.  It was thought that the birds had broken their promise to the trees until this spring, there was a sign.  From the roof top of Bean and Leaf, a few small sprouts emerged from the seeds that had been carried by the birds and deposited in the gutter.  As the rain and sun came, these small brave trees held tight and began to grow taller and unfurled their leaves.  Now they have the best seat in the house above Main Street, watching the workers below.  But what will be the fate of these survivor trees??

I'm sorry I didn't know the trees were going to be "cut down". Wasn't there a way to "dig up" and save them? I would gladly have taken one (or two) and I'm willing to give a good home to one or two of the "survivors". patfarr17@gmail.com

Very poetic comment David, and your third photograph says it all beautifully-
I hope these little seedlings are saved and replanted-
