After going to church on Easter, you're going to want to come home to something you can serve right away. I'm here to help, of course!
One of my most popular recipes is this Cheesy Ranch "Tot" Bake. It's really simple to put together and is packed with deliciousness! The first time I made this, I made it with ground turkey. The second time I made it, I made it with mild sausage! Both were yummy, but there was something REALLY special about the one with mild sausage! If you like a bit more spice, go for a medium or hot sausage! Live it up!
I'll post another breakfast recipe for you next week too, so you can have a variety of things in your slow cookers for your guests to choose from!
Cheesy Ranch "Tot" Bake
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground mild sausage, cooked
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cups cheese, shredded (I had mexican blend, but use whatever sounds good to you!)
32 oz. bag frozen tator tots
1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk
1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
Directions:
Spray your crock with non-stick spray. Cook your ground sausage and line the bottom of your crock with it. Sprinkle the onions on top of that. Layer on your cheese. Dump the tator tops on top of that. Mix together the cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese soup, onion powder, milk and ranch, then pour that over the top of the tator tots and spread evenly.
Cook on LOW for 7-9 hours or on HIGH for 4-6 hours. Enjoy!

Sorry - this sounds like the worst of everything. Canned soup? Packaged seasoning mix? Tots, cheese, and sausage? Sounds like a recipe for obesity, high blood pressure and heart problems. Not amused.

Ruby, certainly, if you were eating this sort of thing every day, it would be a problem. Once in a great while, it's totally fine. I wasn't looking to "amuse" anyone, but to give you a recipe you could try. If it's not for you, then it's not for you! My family is definitely not obese, nor do they have heart problems or high blood pressure from eating this recipe once, maybe twice a year. Everything is ok in moderation.

Great recipe! Not to mention that everything in it can be modified for a lower fat version. They do make low fat/reduced fat soup, cheese, and meat. Thanks for the recipe, will definitely give it a try!

Nicole, you are absolutely right. You can also make your own cream of soup to cut calories and preservatives as well.

I just checked the link and it led me right to the correct recipe from that post. You are on the Tator tot recipe thread. Here is the Cinnamon French Toast link though http://www.slowcookeradventures.com/2011/04/cinnamon-french-toast-casserole.html
