“From the Heart:" Four beautiful heart pendants designed and made by members of our talented and artistic staff. Each artist and pendant has a story. We will unveil them one-by-one this week. No two pendants are alike. They are as unique as the artists who created them. The Agate Heart
(released Feb. 4, 2013)
Haig’s of Rochester’s restoration artist, Diane Kaczor, discovered an agate heart in our collection of stones many years ago.
“I was intrigued by its angular cut,” she said, “and wanted to do something modern with the stone’s shape.”
Diane decided to contrast the agate’s unique red color with a round diamond and a white and yellow gold mounting. The result is a beautiful contemporary red agate heart with a round diamond (.34ct), hammered 14k yellow gold mounting and bale, and 14k white gold side pins and bezel. Diane paired the stone and its setting with a grey silk cord with yellow gold tips and clasps.
The design of this pendant was inspired by a special member of Diane’s family: “I would give this heart to my daughter-in-law whom I love with all my heart.”
One winner of our contest drawing, which takes place during our All Hearts Eve event on Thurs., Feb. 7, 6-8 p.m., will have the opportunity to choose one of the four custom heart pendants we’re unveiling this week. Will this be the one? Will it be you?
