There may be no better comfort on cold winter days than a mug of warm chocolate. We recently ventured out into the cold to explore Rochester's diverse hot cocoa options and meet the people behind the comfort drinks.

At Sanders, manager Ashlee Barnes has it down to a science; after all, on popular downtown nights like Fire & Ice, she has been known to make more than 300 cups. Nearby at O'Connor's Public House, bartender Danny Fulks gives it a twist with vodka and peppermint schnapps. At Dessert Oasis, the chocolate is always warm in a slow cooker.

Across town in Rochester Hills, we check out a gelato shop known for its rich and creamy hot chocolate. And inside Starbucks at the Oakland Township Kroger, we order one of our favorite drinks: the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.
