Firebrick's Top 10 List
Laikind gave me 10 ideas, but it was easy to find even more. Check out the photo gallery for pictures from the list and some bonus ideas, too.
- Porcelain pendants by Marilyn Appleman:These beautiful pieces are $20 each. Laikind's favorite is a crimson heart with gold swirls.
- Brie dish by Brandee Ross: Laikind says this piece is a popular "White Elephant" gift. It's oven-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. It comes in a variety of colors and includes a recipe for Baked Brie with Peaches. It's $28.
- Coffee mugs by Nancy Zito: These whimsical mugs are microwave- and dishwasher-safe. No two are exactly alike. Prices range from $16 to $18.
- Clay Frames by Kristin DeVries: These 5x7 frames in a variety of colors are a store bestseller. Add a favorite photo to personalize the gift. It's $26.
- Hand-painted glass ornaments by Donna Weber: Polk-a-dots in every color decorate these gorgeous ornaments. They're $16 each.
- Duo swizzle sticks by Erin Autsterberry: A great gift for the person who has everything, these hand-blown holiday swizzle sticks make any drink a celebration. My favorite is the mitten, of course! They're $15 each or a pair for $30.
- Glass cuff links for men and women by Shelly Williams: "They're back!" Laikind said. And Firebrick offers a beautiful selection of cuff links for men and women. A pair is $30.
- Metal holiday ornaments by Deborah Flanagan: A tree, a reindeer and a star — whichever you select will be a treasured addition to someone's tree. Each is $14.
- Wooden cutting board by James Green Wood: These rich cutting boards come in three sizes and three price points, $22, $42 and $72.
- Wine stopper with cork screw by Carolyn Johnson: This clever piece opens the wine bottle and then stops it up! No wonder it's a store favorite. There's a handle in whatever color scheme your heart could desire. They're $48.
What Christmas means
With artists busy at work in the studio portion of Firebrick, Laikind shared her holiday favorites:
- Favorite thing about the holidays: "Can't you tell?" Laikind asked, gesturing around the store. "It's decorating! I really get my creative spirit out this time of year."
- Favorite treat for the holidays: "Dutch apple pie ... I make a good one!" Laikind said.
- Favorite gift: "Anything from my daughter," said Laikind.
