Summer, Day 47: Help Hungry Kids
Rochester Patch will give you something to do today and every day of summer.
There are 94 days of summer, from June 21-Sept. 22. Along the way, Rochester Patch will offer something unique to do every day.
Day 47: Help hungry kids
When you shop at Hollywood Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, you can help raise money for the Hunger Free Summer campaign, a project sponsored by Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners and Charter One to help feed children for the remainder of the summer. For a donation of $1, the campaign can provide eight meals for a child (with help from a matching donation from Charter One).
The Hollywood Market, on the corner of Tienken and Rochester roads, will ask customers for their donations at the register as they
check out today. The Hunger Free Summer campaign has a goal of providing an additional 2 million meals to hungry southeast Michigan children.
