The rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State fans peaks this month, as the state gets ready for the big game Oct. 20.
Go Green! Go White! Go Blue and Maize!

It's that time of the year again: fall in Michigan, otherwise known as the green vs. blue season.

The big game (this year it's at the Big House) is coming up at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. To get ready for the rivalry, Patch.com sites across Michigan are asking readers to show off their Michigan or Michigan State pride. Add a photo to our online gallery; we'll rotate the featured photo each day until kickoff.

The Spartans are 4-3 coming off a double-overtime loss this weekend to Iowa. Michigan is 4-2 after a win this weekend against Illinois.

C'mon Spartans. Photo count so far is UM 11, MSU 9 with three containing both schools. State has dominated the rivalry on the field, so let's extend that to Patch. Dig deep into your archives and post 'em when you find 'em. School with the most photos earns bragging rights!

Sorry, Walden. I meant dominated the rivalry "lately."

Walden, since 1950 the records are UM; 34. MSU; 25 with 2 ties.
Let's look at National Championships since 1950:
MSU: 6, UM: Michigan 1 ** School cheated - Charles Woodson admitted to being paid by school boster after statutes of limitations expired…should be 0

FHM...if you're going to get ALL of your information off WikiPedia, at least post it fair. 11 National championships for U of M. So 10...just because Woodson said so...

So who's winning the big game on Saturday? I think the Wolverines squeak by for the victory. What do you think?

I was talking to an MSU grad on my porch the other day about the big game...but he couldn't talk long, so....he handed me my pizzas, I paid for dinner and a tip...and wished him well.

Spartans come from Sparta - Wolverines come from landfills.

My brief conversations with MSU grads always end with them asking me if I want to SuperSize for a quarter more.

Though I will admit, everything about the history is Sparta is awesome, except the "relations" that the Warrior men had with each other.... Let's just say, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" wasn't an issue back then.

Please. this is crazy. It's just a game for the Maker's Sake. Get on with something that actually means something, back better fine arts in education, ecademics, sports is benign. What does football mean in the long run? The loser mows my lawn, how pathetic!
