Show Us Your Harlem Shake, Rochester

Greg Kampe and the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies can do it. So can Stoney Creek teachers and a downtown Rochester business. Post your videos here.

If you can do the Harlem Shake, you can share your video with your Rochester neighbors here on Patch.

The Harlem Shake as an Internet meme began earlier this month, when five teens from Australia uploaded a 30-second video to YouTube and then watched it go viral.

Since then, thousands of groups of dancers have created spinoffs. We have gathered a few local versions here.

  • DPro Marketing in downtown Rochester has a gorilla starring in their video.
  • The Oakland University Golden Grizzlies put Coach Greg Kampe in a laundry hamper for their version.
  • The teachers at Stoney Creek High School got into the dance in their lounge.

The video versions are not without controversy, though. At Milford High School last week, students were suspended for allegedly filming an inappropriate Harlem Shake video at the school. (Please, only upload your "clean" versions on Patch!)
