Torii Hunter took to Twitter on Friday to ask for recommendations on places to stay in the southeastern Michigan area; at least one response tried to convince him that Rochester was the place to be.
On Thursday, free agent outfielder Torii Hunter made news by agreeing to a contract with the Detroit Tigers.
Hunter's signing stoked the hot stove for baseball fans in Detroit. And on Friday, Hunter piqued fans' interest even more when he took to Twitter (his account is @toriihunter48) to ask for suggestions on a place to live in the southeastern Michigan area.
Do you think Hunter should move to Rochester? At least one Tweet as of Friday afternoon tried to sell him on the city.
If you're on Twitter, tell Hunter to come to our town!

I'm not on Twitter, but I hope someone tells him about our trail system. He has to run to stay in shape -- might as well do it in beauty.
Troy, Birmingham, & Bloomfield don't offer this.
I believe some number of the Pistons live in or near Oakland Twp, so he could benefit from much of what Rochester offers & have more land/privacy & some neighbors who can relate to what a professional athlete must do if he chose a home there.

North Rochester, and Oakland Twp are too far of a ride to Detroit (there is a reason no Red Wings, Lions, or Tigers live up here). He should stick to Birmingham, Troy, Northville, Grosse Pointe areas

Brian, I live in north Rochester and can get to downtown Detroit in 35 minutes. That's not a bad commute.
