Secretary of State Sets Up Mobile Office on OU Campus

It's designed to capitalize on the political awareness this week.

For students, faculty and staff at , the political process is at the forefront of conversation this week.

To capitalize on the awareness surrounding events leading up the the Republican presidential debate, the Michigan Secretary of State has set up a mobile office in the Oakland Center on campus.

Robert Gatt, the mobile officer supervisor, called it a "branch in a box." He set up the mobile office — which is essentially a long desk with a computer and a driver's license photo backdrop and camera — on Monday morning.

"We hope to help folks out, and with the local election tomorrow and the debate on Wednesday, we think people may be more aware right now," said Gatt.

  • Register to vote.
  • Renew your driver's license.
  • Renew your license plate tags.
  • Sign up for the organ donor registry.

It's too late to register to vote in time for Tuesday's election, but anyone who registers now will be ready to vote on Feb. 28, for the Michigan presidential primary.

The mobile Secretary of State office will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday.
