Wednesday, Feb. 16: Lutheran High Northwest girls and coach reflect on season of bonding

On Saturdays before practice, Lutheran High Northwest girls basketball coach Mike Murphy buys breakfast for any of the players who show up to his favorite diner, Antonio's Cafe and Grill.

They talk basketball. But they talk everyday life, too, because the 12 girls are great friends on and off the court.

“I think the chemistry of the team is probably the strong suit," Murphy said. "They all get along and bond real close together.”

The team is 8-7 overall following a loss Friday night to Southfield Christian. This week, they wrap up their season with two home games: tonight (Wednesday) against Birmingham Roeper and Friday night against Lutheran High School.

Check out this video report about the team, their goals and the way they bond as teammates and friends.
